Boosting a post or a store item

A boost puts a published post, or an item in your store, in front of more readers: a boosted journal appears in the journal feed marked Promoted, and a boosted item in the Boosted strips on the home page and in Notes Market. The strips show a few boosts at a time on a computer or tablet and one on a phone, taking turns, and boosts also go in the sponsored slots of the weekly digest, where each email sent counts as one impression. The best picture is 1200 × 628 px (see Advert sizes and spots). You pay for validated impressions (a real visitor had it at least half on screen for about a second, counted once per visitor per day), not for clicks.

Boosts have no commission, and anything not delivered by the end is refunded pro rata. You can also cancel a running boost under Boost performance: impressions already delivered are spent, you get half of the undelivered share back and forfeit the other half.
